Dr. Hind Hanafy graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1975.

 

She started her career as a resident of Pediatrics in 1977 and assistant lecturer in 1980. She reached the position of Professor of Pediatrics in 1995 and established the first Pediatric Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit in Alexandria Faculty of Medicine in 1992.

 

Dr. Hind was appointed as Director of Medical Education Development Center in 2003 and as Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research in 2004 until 2006 when she was assigned to be Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research for three years until she attained her present position as President of Alexandria University.

 

Prof. Hind Hanafy is the first woman in Egypt to be a president of University.

 

She is a member of several Euromediterranean networks, UNIMED, EPUF and a member of the Senate Committee of Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI). Dr. Hind was elected as President of Francophone Middle Eastern Universities related to Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in 2009.
